"The EU AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689) defines an AI system as a machine-based system that works with some autonomy and infers from the input it receives how to generate outputs such as predictions, content, recommendations or decisions (Article 3(1)).",
"In everyday work this covers chatbots and writing assistants, translation tools, meeting transcription, CV screening, credit scoring, image generators and AI features built into office software and CRMs.",

"Bias: if training data under-represents or mistreats some groups, outputs can be unfair, for example in hiring, lending or translation of gendered terms.",
"Outdated or manipulated input: a tool may rely on old information, and hidden instructions in a web page or document (prompt injection) can steer its answer."
