DGMS circulars: where to find them, how to track new ones and how to keep a compliance register

Last updated 21 Oct 2026 · India

Short answer. DGMS (Directorate General of Mines Safety) publishes its circulars, notifications and exam notices on its official site, dgms.gov.in. Check it on a fixed day each month, note each new circular's number, date and subject, decide whether it applies to your mine, and record the action taken. Exam candidates should also read circulars on competency exams, because eligibility and procedure changes are announced there.

Monthly routine (30 minutes)

  1. Open dgms.gov.in and go to the circulars / notifications section.
  2. List anything dated after your last check.
  3. For each, write: number, date, subject, applies to us? (yes/no), action, owner, due date.
  4. Brief supervisors at the next safety meeting and keep the minutes.

Common mistakes

The site sometimes loads slowly; try again outside peak hours rather than relying on copies of unknown origin.
