DGMS notice of 8 Oct 2026: offline applications for competency certificates on exemption basis (CMR 2017, MMR 1961)
“This offline arrangement shall remain applicable only as an interim measure till the online Examination & Certification Platform becomes operational or until further orders, whichever is earlier.”
— DGMS, Board of Mining Examinations (Coal & Metal), notice dated 08.10.2026 (checked 13 Oct 2026)
What "exemption basis" means here
The notice covers certificates that the regulations and examination bye-laws allow the Board to grant on exemption basis to candidates who meet the conditions for that certificate. It is not the Sirdar/Overman CBT notice. Check the regulation and bye-law for your certificate to confirm you are eligible on exemption basis before you apply.

- Proof of date of birth / age
- Proof of the educational / technical qualification required
- Valid medical certificate
- Valid First Aid Certificate, wherever applicable
- Experience certificate(s) in the prescribed form, showing the required period and nature of experience
- Character certificate, wherever applicable
- Existing statutory certificate of competency, where it is a prerequisite

- Any other supporting document the Board asks for

Common mistakes the notice warns about
- Incomplete or illegible papers. Applications without the required documents, or not meeting the eligibility criteria, may be rejected or returned for compliance.
- Experience certificate not in the prescribed form. Get it in the format the regulations / bye-laws prescribe, covering the exact period and nature of work.

- Anything false or altered. False, fabricated, forged or misleading documents are dealt with under the law and the bye-laws.
- Using the grievance e-mail for routine questions. Grievances about offline certification go only to dir.exam@dgms.gov.in.
The notice does not print a submission address. Confirm where to hand in or post Form-II on dgms.gov.in or with the Board before sending originals.
