Short answer. The standard Telugu wish is దీపావళి శుభాకాంక్షలు (Deepavali shubhakankshalu, “Deepavali wishes”). For a family message: మీకు, మీ కుటుంబ సభ్యులందరికీ దీపావళి శుభాకాంక్షలు (“Deepavali wishes to you and all your family”). After Deepavali comes Karthika Masam: కార్తీక మాస శుభాకాంక్షలు. In 2026, Telangana's official holiday list puts Naraka Chaturdasi and Deepavali on Sunday 8 November; panchangam sites give Karthika Masam from about 10 November. Check your family's panchangam for exact days.

Why the wording matters

Festival wishes are often the one message a customer or a distant relative reads fully all year. A short, correct Telugu line feels personal; a forwarded image with broken letters or a hard sell does the opposite.

If you mention festival timings or an offer, add one plain line with real dates and prices only. Keep the greeting first and the offer second.

For relatives and clients abroad

మీకు, మీ కుటుంబానికి దీపావళి శుభాకాంక్షలు. దూరంగా ఉన్నా మా దీపాల వెలుగు మీకు చేరాలని కోరుకుంటున్నాము.

English: Deepavali wishes to you and your family. Though you are far away, we hope the light of our lamps reaches you. Tip: the morning of 8 November in India is still the evening of 7 November in the US, so send it at a time that suits their zone.

Common mistakes

Broken Telugu letters in images made with apps that don't support the script. Use a Telugu font such as Noto Sans Telugu and check on a phone.
Messaging people who never opted in. WhatsApp's business policy requires the customer's number and their permission before you message them; bulk-forwarding to every contact can get a business number blocked.
Turning the greeting into an ad. One wish, one thank-you, at most one line about an offer.
Wrong day. Festival days can differ by region and by panchangam; confirm locally.
