Why the wording matters
A Gruhapravesam is the family's first formal welcome into a new home. Elders read the card for the blessing line, the muhurtham and how the family is named, and relatives who live far away often decide from the card whether to travel or join by video. A clear, respectful card in Telugu, with an English line for those who need it, does both jobs.

Common mistakes
- Muhurtham without the full date and time. Write the weekday, date and exact time, as fixed by your family priest.
- An address guests can't find. New colonies are hard to locate; add a landmark and a map link.
- Broken Telugu letters. Some design apps don't support Telugu. Use a Telugu font such as Noto Sans Telugu, export to PDF or image, and check every word on a phone.
- Copying a wedding card's honorifics. చి॥ and చి॥ల॥సౌ॥ belong on wedding cards; a Gruhapravesam card names the hosts.
- Skipping the elder's check. Families differ on the opening line, the deity named and how relatives are listed.
