FAQ

When does Article 50 apply?

From 2 August 2026, the general date of application in Article 113 of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689. Providers of generative AI systems that were already on the market before 2 August 2026 have until 2 December 2026 to meet the Article 50(2) marking duty (new Article 111(4), added by Regulation (EU) 2026/1744).

Does a visible "made with AI" line cover Article 50(2)?

No. Article 50(2) asks providers to mark outputs in a machine-readable format so they are detectable as AI-generated (for example metadata or watermarking). A visible label helps people, but it does not replace machine-readable marking. The Commission's Code of Practice on transparency of AI-generated content describes practical measures.

I use someone else's chatbot on my website. Is Article 50(1) my duty?

Article 50(1) is addressed to providers: the chatbot must be designed so people are told they are talking to an AI system, unless that is obvious. If you deploy a third-party chatbot, check that it shows such a notice, and add your own if it doesn't. If you put an AI system on the market under your own name, you may count as its provider.

Is anything I type sent to you?

No. The generator runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded or stored by us.

Is this legal advice or an official EU tool?

No. It is a free drafting aid from the Unadhi EURO AI team, not legal advice and not an official EU publication. Check the wording against your own situation and the official sources below.

Do the high-risk rules apply from August 2026 too?

No. Under Regulation (EU) 2026/1744, the high-risk rules for Annex III systems apply from 2 December 2027 and for Annex I products from 2 August 2028. Article 50 transparency and Article 4 AI literacy are separate duties that already apply.
