Telugu Barasala invitation wording (బారసాల ఆహ్వానం), with English meanings and a WhatsApp version

Short answer. Barasala (బారసాల, from బాలసారె) is the Telugu naming and cradle ceremony, held on a muhurtham fixed by the family priest, traditionally on the 21st day after birth (some families choose the 11th or 16th day or later). An invitation usually opens with a blessing (శ్రీరస్తు శుభమస్తు అవిఘ్నమస్తు), names the occasion (నామకరణ మహోత్సవం / బారసాల), gives the date, muhurtham and address, invites guests సకుటుంబ సపరివార సమేతంగా, and closes with the parents' or grandparents' names. Wording differs by family, so please have an elder check it.

Why the wording matters

Grandparents and elders read the card for the blessing, the muhurtham and how the family is named. Relatives abroad often join by video, so the time and a link matter as much as the Telugu.

A short WhatsApp version for relatives abroad

Common mistakes

Printing the baby's name when the family wants it revealed at the ceremony. Many families announce the name only during the naming ritual; ask first.
Muhurtham without the full date and time. Write the weekday, date and exact time, as fixed by the priest.
Leaving out grandparents. In many families they are named as hosts; check who should appear and in what order.
Broken Telugu letters. Use a Telugu font such as Noto Sans Telugu and check every word on a phone.
Copying a wedding card. Wedding honorifics (చి॥, చి॥ల॥సౌ॥) are not used the same way here.
