Rules to know
- EU AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689), as amended by the Digital Omnibus on AI (Regulation (EU) 2026/1744): Article 4 AI literacy applies since 2 February 2025 and, as amended, requires providers and deployers to take measures to support their staff's AI literacy (no guaranteed level); Article 50 transparency since 2 August 2026; high-risk obligations from 2 December 2027 (Annex III) and 2 August 2028 (Annex I). - GDPR with Germany's BDSG and Austria's DSG
- Switzerland: revised Federal Act on Data Protection (revDSG/nFADP, in force since 1 September 2023); Swiss firms serving EU users can fall under the EU AI Act
- Germany UWG §7 and Austria TKG 2021 §174: B2B cold email generally needs prior consent
